Making a welcome return, 3 hugely talented women – the wonderful ‘Columbines’! Well known as a folk and Americana trio specialising in original songs and their own arrangements of traditional and lesser known folk songs, Columbines are recognised for their striking use of close harmony singing, often a cappella, and their diverse range of instruments such as cello, Irish bouzouki, classical and steel string guitar, and percussion. They tell us they have added to their repertoire of folk and Americana to include some ‘songs of the sea’ – but “Not exactly shanties …” – intriguing! Columbines are brilliant and entertaining and not to be missed!
Do make sure you get in and get a seat as soon as possible after we open – last time they were our guests, the room was so packed we feared people would have to sit on each other’s laps. Well, we’ve always been a very friendly club …
The first part will start with a number of floor spots (which MUST be pre-booked) followed by Columbines’ first 45 minute set. After a short interval we’ll have one or two more floor spots to warm up, then Columbines’ second 45 minute set.
