Both conservatoire trained, they represent a rare evolution of the art: the flawless precision of the academy seamlessly combined with the “duende” of a storied lineage. Their performance burns with the raw emotion and intricate rhythms immortalised by Utrera’s flamenco royalty – Bambino (the “King of Rumba”), and the legendary Gitana sisters, Fernanda and Bernarda. Through a haunting dialogue of voice and guitar, Antonio & Diego navigate a range of traditional ‘palos’, paying homage to the towering legacy of Paco de Lucía, Paco Cepero and the hugely influential “rock andaluz” of Triana, Lole y Manuel and Alameda. They don’t speak English; they don’t need to. Music is their mother tongue. This is flamenco straight from its source: direct, intimate, and uncompromising. A thing of rare beauty, forged in the family home, refined by years of study, and seldom destined for export.
