The TACMEP Celebrate! Diverse Cultures Festival takes place in Lower Castle Park, Colchester, on 3 July 2010 from 12pm until 5pm.
This free family event, now in its third year, celebrates the rich cultures and diversity of Colchester and is staged by the Tendring and Colchester Minority Ethnic Partnership (TACMEP), a unique organisation that promotes equality across the district.
The day’s celebrations will feature music, dance, visual arts, market stalls and cuisine from around the world. Workshops will also take place, featuring several of the artists performing at the event, allowing visitors to participate and learn new songs, instruments, dances and stories.
The festival will be followed by an Eastern Roots concert at Colchester Arts Centre, featuring salsa band Sexteto Café, who will promote their new release, 10 Years of Salsa. Tickets are available on 01206 500900.
Celebrate! Diverse Cultures Festival 2010 is sponsored by Explore Culture One World Festival, Essex County Council, Arts Council East and Colchester Borough Council.
