The TACMEP Celebrate! Diverse Cultures Festival takes place in Lower Castle Park, Colchester, on the 3rd July 2010 from 12pm until 5pm.
This free family event, now in its third year, celebrates the rich cultures and diversity in Colchester and is staged by the Tendring and Colchester Minority Ethnic Partnership (TACMEP), who are a unique organisation promoting equality across the district.
The day’s celebrations will feature music, dance, visual arts, market stalls and cuisine from around the world. Workshops will also take place, featuring several of the artists performing at the event, allowing visitors to participate and learn new songs, instruments, dances and stories.
The TACMEP Celebrate! Diverse Cultures Festival will be followed by an Eastern Roots concert – a performance by salsa band Sexteto Café at Colchester Arts Centre. With a reputation as one of the best Latin bands in the UK, they will be promoting their new release ‘10 years of Salsa’. Tickets available from 01206 500 900
