The Bull in Crouch Street, Colchester, has reached the finals of Music Pub of the Year at the prestigious Publican Awards 2010.
Over the past three years, The Bull has transformed itself into a venue that hosts live music six nights a week, appreciated by musicians and customers throughout Colchester and its surrounding areas. It is now officially recognised as one of the top six music pubs in the UK. The Music Pub of the Year award is presented to venues dedicated to music that provide a varied programme reflecting customers’ needs and preferences, while attracting new audiences and boosting trade.
Dave Richards, owner of The Bull, said: “When I first heard the news, I was delighted for both The Bull and the town of Colchester. My staff and I work very hard planning a live music schedule across both our Main Bar and The Music Room, but our success has come from the customers who gave The Bull a chance and have never looked back.”
Dave added, “During the past six months, we’ve seen a real buzz surrounding Colchester’s music scene, and I think this news reflects that. It’s great news for us and for the town.”
The Publican Awards are among the most respected in the pub industry and take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane on Tuesday, 21st April.
