The Bull in Crouch Street, Colchester has reached the finals of Music Pub of The Year at the prestigious Publican Awards 2010.

Over the past 3 years The Bull has transformed itself into a venue that hosts live music 6 nights a week that is appreciated by musicians and customers throughout Colchester and its surrounding areas but it is now officially recognised as one of the top 6 music pubs in the UK. The Music Pub of the Year award is for venues that are dedicated to music and provide a varied music programme that reflects customers’ needs and preferences, and attracts new customers which, in turn, boosts trade.

Dave Richards owner of The Bull said, “When I first heard the news I was delighted for both The Bull and the town of Colchester. My staff I and I work very hard in planning a live music schedule in both our Main Bar and The Music Room but our success has come from the customers who gave The Bull a chance and have never looked back”.

Dave added, “During the past 6 months we’ve seen a real buzz surround Colchester’s music scene and I think this news reflects that, it’s great news for us and the town”.

The Publican Awards are the most respected awards in the pub industry and take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane on Tuesday 21st April.
