The Big Sunday, one of last year’s standout events, returns on 6 September 2015.
Organised by Dorian Kelly, this free celebration is centred around Colchester’s Cultural Quarter, with activity taking place at Firstsite, The Minories, The Waiting Room, 15 Queen Street, Three Wise Monkeys, Queen St. Brewhouse, V-Bar and Cafe Piatto.
The surrounding streets, squares and open spaces – including both lawns at Firstsite and part of the bus garage area – will also host performances and activities.
Expect live music, poets, theatre, dance, choirs, stalls, food, beer, multiple stages and an arena atmosphere.
Artists already confirmed include The Charington Cole Blues Collective, Slugworth, Park and Ride, The Occupants, Tom and Emma Hardy, The Egyptian Belly Dancers, Kagbeni – the Film, Some Kind of Poetry Thing / Mosaic Undergrowth, Stu E. Skinner Band, The Polly Violet Collective, The Unmistakable Scent of Leopard, Julia Watson, Young Claws, The Colne Valley Youth Orchestra, The Ghurka Dancers, Young Art Kommunity / Flow Group, Annies Fantasies Cloggers, The Shrinks and many more still to be announced.
The event runs from midday until 11pm and is a must-attend in the Colchester calendar.
