Come along and learn how to create your own piece of mixed media artwork. You will use a combination of techniques and mediums to produce your own work of art!

‘Mixed media is visual art form that provides artists with the ability to produce works of great creativity by merging multiple types of materials and methods.’

The workshops are aimed at any ability level. You’ll be surprised at how creative you actually are already, even if you don’t feel it!

‘Human beings are creative by nature. Each born with an innate ability to express ourselves through art, music, language, dance, poetry and other forms of creativity and communication.

This innovative capacity is often ignored or sabotaged by cultural institutions and beliefs that tell us artists are rare, that trains us since childhood to think of ourselves as consumers rather than creators.’

Here’s what to expect:

We will be using all sorts of materials, mostly recycled. These might include cardboard, foil, magasines, bottle tops, elastic bands, bits of plastic pipe & even bits of fabric. Pretty much anything goes! If it can be successfully stuck to cardboard or other ‘canvas’ it can probably be used. So if you’ve got bits laying around at home, please feel free to bring along.

We will also use glue, paints, acrylic pens and various other mediums to decorate and embellish your piece.

Informal, friendly and fully inclusive workshop. You are welcome to bring a long a small amount of booze if you wish, however we don’t everyone rolling around drunk and flinging paint everywhere!! Fun as that may sound! 😅

Relaxed, informal & friendly atmosphere. All abilities welcome. Ages 14+. All materials are supplied but if you find an object you’d like to incorporate into your artwork, please bring along.

These will be messy sessions, so wear something old, an apron or if you’re like me, best get those coveralls on!
