BioBlitz at Flatford Mill

May 29, 2024

Come on down to Field Studies Council Flatford Mill on Wednesday 29th of May to join in our annual BioBlitz event!

We are aiming to record as many species as possible in just one day across Flatford’s habitats, to beat last year’s total of 201 species. The BioBlitz is open to all ages and all levels of experience in identifying wildlife.

This will be an exciting and free event for families looking for half-term fun, and a great opportunity for local nature enthusiasts to explore the Flatford area, the day will run from 8am to 9pm.

We will start bright and early with bird ringing, mammal & moth trapping and finish off with evening walks to spot bats and owls.

Drop-in activities will be happening throughout the day, including pond dipping, camera traps, minibeast hunting, tree trails, flower folklore, and tracks & signs spotting, with a chance to become a poo detective!
