The Backstage Centre was designed in consultation with industry experts from some of the world’s best theatre live production venues. Located in the High House Production Park, Purfleet and purpose-built in 2013 to accommodate major productions, live events, rehearsals, conferences and workshops.

Alycia Potter, Filmmaker

Winner of the BFI Future Film Festival’s #FFF60SECS filmmaking competition, and alumni of Signals’ Film Academy Program. Alycia recently setup Potter Projects, a worldwide community for young filmmakers. Potter Projects strive to include all voices in film and create a new wave of cinema.

Siobán Smith, Animator and Signals Creative and Learning Producer

Siobhán is an animator who creates and delivers a range of film making and creative workshops and projects for Signals. She won a scholarship to study Character Animation at Central Saint Martins in 2016 and has since created films for the Children’s Society and the English National Opera. Her graduation film Stitch was nominated for numerous awards including ‘Best new British Animation’ and screened in over 30 film festivals across the world.
