Crush by Hadsan Mohamud is a British-Somali romantic comedy exploring identity, connection, and recovery.

In a clinic waiting room, two Somali teenagers meet. Najma has been receiving treatment for years, while Zakariya is just beginning his. She sketches, and he writes poetry, and as their sessions continue, conversations, jokes and secrets gradually bring them closer together.

Tender, funny and honest, Crush looks at the complicated path towards healing and the connections formed along the way.

The play was longlisted for the Tony Craze Award 2025.

Crush is performed in the Mercury Studio on Friday 2 October 2026 at 7pm. The running time is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, and age guidance is 14+.
