Learning Disability Week Celebration
Essex Learning Disability Service and The Minories are coming together to host a community event to celebrate Learning Disability Week 2024.
This years theme ‘Do you see me?’ is about being seen, heard and valued – a positive message created by people with a learning disability to build a movement of change.
It is all about making sure the world hears what life is like if you have a learning disability through educating and raising awareness about Learning Disabilities, smashing stigmas, ending discrimination and fighting for a fair society.
What to expect:
– Lots of activity in the Minories Garden!
– Stalls, art activities and performances from Essex Learning Disability Service.
– A pop-up stall by Level Best, a social enterprise project based in Colchester and started by the Dacon Trust, whose purpose is to offer genuine and meaningful work skills training opportunities to adults and young people with learning disabilities
– A pop-up stall and art activities by the Castle Hearts School of Art and Wellbeing, The Minories’ very own art school run by Tristan Howe.
