Practical Microscopy: Freshwater Biology – Go It Alone Weekend
Enjoy a microscopists weekend at Flatford. The river Stour including the Millpond provides a good variety of Freshwater habitats and has always provided us with lots of interesting specimens including Bryozoans, Rotifers and Diatoms.
This is an opportunity to share, swap and learn new techniques with fellow enthusiasts, or simply do your own thing.
Enjoy a microscopists weekend at Flatford. The river Stour including the Millpond provides a good variety of Freshwater habitats and has always provided us with lots of interesting specimens including Bryozoans, Rotifers and Diatoms. In addition, there is an established dipping pond, and extensive woodland and meadow areas as well. It’s worth knowing that the centre has an excellent range of Keys and Monographs for identification.
There will be Loca and Glycerine Jelly available for making permanent and semi-permanent microscope mounts, plus an interesting range of specimens to try your hand with.
This is a self-led course.
