The Void – Mercury Theatre, Colchester
The Void brings sci-fi horror to the stage in a production combining theatre, illusion and atmospheric projections.
Eight million miles from Earth, a mysterious distress call draws haunted space ranger Flint towards the Odyssey, an ageing research vessel where something has gone badly wrong. He discovers a failing ship, a missing crew and a deadly force running out of control.
Set in a decaying future of humans, artificial intelligence and memories of a dangerous past, The Void uses powerful illusions and projections to create a theatrical science-fiction horror story.
Written and directed by Ryan Simons, the production features a cast including Alex Moran, Emma Leah Golding, Olwen May, Riana Duce, Ryan Simons and Terence Rae.
The Void runs at the Mercury Theatre on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October 2026, with performances at 7.30pm. The running time is approximately 2 hours 10 minutes including an interval and age guidance is 13+.
Please note that the production contains loud noises, scenes of violence, haze and flashing lights.
