The last time FuzzFace, the band that features Ady Johnson, Matt Simpkins, Toby Bull and Mark Turnbull, played anywhere was at the Keep Colchester Cool Christmas Party in 2009 and I’ve managed to get (bribe?) them to grace the stage at a special gig taking place next month.

Organising a 40th birthday party is  an important one but I wanted to put something on for mine that involves a great range of music from the local scene.

And it’s for that reason that FuzzFace, widely regarded as one of Colchester’s best bands of the last decade, have decided to make a brief return to the live circuit on a top draw night that also includes performances from Housework, Greg Blackman, and the GrownSoul DJ’s Shoesy and CantCutCarwyn.

Keep Colchester Cool will take over The Soundhouse at The Bull in Crouch Street on Saturday 5th February for the gig that is open to all.

I’ve put on so many events over the past year and met loads of good people so I wanted a party that is open to everyone, not one that’s invitation only.   So to have this brilliant selection of Colchester acts playing for my 40th  birthday  is something I feel very privileged about.
