Mangled, the Colchester based promoters and originators of the Essex rave scene, are hosting a reunion party at Route Nightclub on Saturday 7th October and are raising money for the Youth Cancer Trust in the process.
Celebrating 21 years since the launch of Mangled at the Braintree Barn, at the time voted one of the top 10 nights in the UK by Rave Magazine, the reunion features a host of DJs that helped cement its name in dance music history.
Special guests on the night include Mr C, the LA based DJ who was a resident at The Barn and featured with The Shamen on hit records such as Ebenezer Good and Pro-gen (Move Any Mountain) and dance act Shades Of Rhythm who will be performing a Live PA.
Route will stage 3 rooms; Acid House classics 1988-1991 with DJs Jamie Smart, Danny C, Stevee B, and Vinny. Jackin Beats with DJs Mr C, A Man Like Ju, Dutchie and Bernie Green. Chill in the Closet features Balearic Beats and alternative tunes from DJs Agent Orange, Ben Howard, Ali James and Gary Thaleman.
Mangled founder Mark Dalziel said, “When we started, I never imagined that we’d still be running successful nights in 2010. The reason why I re-introduced the nights was not just down to popular demand but also the love of the music and the scene.
“What makes it special is that the crowd we get includes those who were there in 1989, mixed with people experiencing it all for the first time, all having a great time.
Mark added, “I feel privileged to be part of something that became a phenomenon and it’s lovely to be in a position where we can raise money for great causes, with over £9000 donated to Lexden Spring School, the Student Union and the Youth Cancer Trust from our reunion parties so far.”
Tickets are priced at £11 plus a £1 booking free and are available from Route.
