After the success of their Summer Beach Party, Mind-Funk returns to The Judge & Jury on Saturday, 13 October 2012, with one of their favourite DJs and producers, Vandal.

Vandal is the alter ego of Sam Evans, who has spent more than a decade crafting underground electronic anthems. His sound blends breakbeat, techno and electro while retaining a distinct identity, earning support from leading names in dance music and building a loyal following. Over the years, he has sold tens of thousands of vinyl, CD and digital releases and played at some of the most respected venues in clubland.

In the early 2000s, Vandal released a series of high-profile tracks on Welsh label Plastic Raygun, gaining backing from DJs including Andrew Weatherall, James Zabiela, Rennie Pilgrem, Adam Freeland and Paul van Dyk.

After leaving Plastic Raygun in 2004, Sam sent a demo to Meat Katie, who had just launched Lot 49 Records. The label immediately signed Mad As Hell, a track that went on to become a major success. Zane Lowe named it “Hottest Record In The World” and made it his Single of the Week on Radio 1. Follow-up releases, including Obey, Idiots and Healthy Boy, further cemented his reputation. Guest mixes for Annie Nightingale, support from Pete Tong and numerous remixes followed.

In 2010, he released his debut album Tonight We Riot on Lot 49, an energetic collision of breakbeat, techno and electro.

Sam launched his own imprint, Benefit Records, in 2009 with the Big Dog EP. The label continues to grow, releasing a diverse range of tracks united by a focus on quality.

Support on the night comes from:

A:B:S (Dead Famous Records, Rough Tempo Radio)
Graham Good (Polytechnic Recordings, Space Ibiza)
