The Good Beer Guide 2015 published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) names Colchester’s The Victoria Inn as one of the UK’s Top 16 pubs.
Described in the beer guide as “A warm welcome waits at the local CAMRA and Essex County Pub of the Year for 2014. Five real ales are on handpump, from both local and smaller brewers around the country, one usually being a darker ale, plus up to nine real ciders. A large courtyard caters for the alfresco drinking and also hosts the annual beer festival”
The North Station Road pub was judged against numerous other local branch winners and was deemed to be the best in the East Anglia region overall, with a perfect mix of the essential characteristics which make a great pub: Atmosphere, decor, welcome, service, value for money, customer mix, but most importantly – quality real ale.
Congratulations to Andy, Sheena, Ian and all the team at The Victoria Inn!
