Learn to dance Dabke – Middle Eastern line dancing – at this free and friendly dance workshop for all. Register at Wivenhoe Library; dancing is across the street at the William Loveless Hall. All welcome, there’s a place in the Dabke line for all, young and old men and women, children and the elderly can all join in. Dabke is a popular line dance similar to circle dancing and danced for fun and community interaction at parties throughout the Middle East. Miriam Gita will be teaching the basic Palestinian step as well as Jordanian, Syrian and Lebanese variations.
